Dog found in SC with muzzle taped shut serves as ‘ambassadog’ for human treatment of animals
Caitlyn, the dog that was found with her muzzle bound with electrical tape in late May, is now serving as an ambassador for the humane treatment of animals.
When doctors removed the tape, her muzzle swelled to about double its normal size.
The dog was named Diamond, but rescuers renamed her Caitlyn. She was predicted to make a full recovery.
North Charleston police arrested 41-year-old William Leonard Dodson on suspicion of abusing the dog. He faces a charge of ill-treatment of an animal involving torture.
